I lived in Rochelle from the time I was born in 1930
until about 1939 or 1940 when we moved to Jena. Clifford
Earl, Kenneth Ray and Jim Thompson and their family lived two two doors down the street. I also remember their father,
Fat Thompson and their mother, Eunice.
Roland Rogers and I were sort-of best friends at that
time and played together quite a lot. Earl Killingsworth
was another friend. Fred Neal and my father went together
and bought a tract or so of timber land in LaSalle Parish
and, I think, in Grant or Winn Parish over toward
Winnfield.
Billy Olden was sort of the town bully (I guess I was the town wimp)I heard that his older brother, “Punkin” had done some time in LTI (Louisiana Training Institute for boys).
I was born in Rochelle in 1932. I lived there and went to school there. I know most of the people mentioned above. Jimmy Guillotte is my cousin, Nelda Neal (cousin) I knew J.C. Vincent, all the Blackshears, Jimmy Day, Tom Carr(the sheriff), Dr. Scott, the Johnsons, Barbara Webb, the Grants,
the Bruces, Griffins, the Nugents, Marjie Boyett and of course the Guillottes (which I am one),the Paces.

I also, went to school in Selma and Georgetown and Urania. I knew the Murphys, Culp, Wiggins , Morgans in Rochelle. I knew Billy Olden, but not from Rochelle, he lived in Tullos next to me.
I have a twin sister and my nick name was Blondie.
